I have had a look through all these forms, and I couldn't find anything on this. I want to remove the front (what you press for the horn) of my steering wheel so that I can hopefully remove the rubber/plastic bits in between the center and outside of the wheel to paint them silver like in the picture attached.
Does the front just pull off? Clips? Anything I have to worry about to do with the airbag?
its a part of the airbag and it has to be removed with specific tools by holden
so no way around this? has anyone successfully removed and painted theirs?
This thread, which you have posted in i see, will tell you how to remove the wheel.

If you're not confident then you should take it as mentioned to holden, but they are quite easy to do if you follow those instructions.
Ahh dang, I was hoping I did not have to strip it down that far.
Yeah but considering i am going to paint my whole center console, I figured id have the paint n primer ready to go. Plus either way it sounds like im guna have to strip it down that far.
Yep, if you want to do your spokes then there really isn't anyway out of it, unless you paint your whole wheel of course!
heh. Well if I wish to purchase a set, what is the GM part number? On another thread no one could get a part number for the silver ones. Not that I saw neways.
to remove the horn pad first u take out the horn & srs fuses, (panel above the pedals) also have the key removed from the ignition, this is all 4 safety.
unhook the 4 clips from behind the str wheel with a flat blade its abit tricky, it helps to bend the tip a bit.try to pull the horn pad with one hand and unclip with the other. good luck mate
