Ask phreddy or you could get him to do it for you if you are in NSW. Look in ASR Audio and Electronics under the sponsors section.
A Commodore is a passion. Anything else is just a car
emailed him and no reply, not in syd and also have a mate in electronics who is going to do the soldering for me, i just need all the types of leds ill need to use so he can get them for me
going by what has been said...some are just standard 3mm - 5mm LEDS...(the MODE switch, and headlight switch and back window switches)...all the rest are a SMD LED...supposedly a T10..or PCLL2 ??..not too sure...but if you talk to your mate about these types and get back to me with what is said??...
because id like to do the same thing but dont want to go buy them all to find they arnt the right ones
thanks
in case it helps, blue light is the worst thing for night vision , closes up your pupils or something. Colours closer to the red end of the spectrum are much better.
Unless you REALLY like the blue ones ....
fords have blue lights dont they? i dont think they would have them if it was a big problem, at least i hope lol
nothing is to blue just look at my display=)
Thats a big display Humble !! I waz just giving you something trivia to consider, i have read it somewhere. I think this is also why they use red lights in photography Dark rooms Check out a BMW next time you pass one , most have red lights.
No idea what fords have...
Hey guys, just signed up to justcommodores. I recently bought a VZ and am looking to change the dash lights to either blue or red. From what i gather it involves soldering the new LED's in, is that true? and how much work is involved in stripping the dash down enough to do the job.
Cheers
Here you go... i found this about a year ago and saved it...

That's a very informative and fantastic link. But gee wiz you would have to have some knowledge of what you were doing. Not for a novice by any means I wouldn't think. Phreddy (Greg) is the man to go to, or send your dash pieces to him so he can undertake the change of lighting colour.
It depends how yours eyes react to different colours.
I had blue leds with yellow needles fitted by Phreddy in my standard SV6 cluster but found after a while it was a bit to harsh on my eyes.
When i got my WL cluster installed we did the lights light blue with yellow needles, which is much better.
