    Default Problem with Manual VY

Not sure if it is a burnt out clutch but my VY has all of a sudden got a problem.

It changes gears fine, but when you put your foot down to accelerate it doesn't seem to have any power, but the engine roars and the tacho shoots right up, as if you have your foot on the clutch while you are putting your foot down. Seems to drive and change gears OK as long as you don't put your foot down for power. Does this mean a burnt out clutch?? I have checked the clutch fluid and the bottle is full. It only started doing it after my sister drove my car

Start the car and put your foot on the clutch, put it in third gear with the hand brake on. Try to take off, if it stalls pretty much straight away it should be fine, if it revs then slows down and then stalls, you either have a buggered clutch or it is an adjustment problem.

Where does the clutch pedal feel like it is taking up, close to the floor or fairly high up?

if you have been sitting in the car while she is driving you would know if she has been riding the clutch, have you been smelling clutch in the car?

No haven't noticed her riding it, and no smell in the car. But outside the car seems to be a strong burning smell when you stop.

STOP. dont let the dealer charge u $1500 mate!

You have a dual mass fly wheel i think so its going to be expensive but get a few quotes from other mechanics before paying $1500, trust me it will save u some money
