    Default VY 03 Alarm Question

my key button where you press to arm/unarm the central locking looks like someone has been chewing on it and it isnt that reliable....question is if i just lock the doors by turning the key so it locks does that mean the immobiliser still works and everything is good just no alarm noise?

    Thanks

Sounds like you need to get a new key Fob. I don't think the alarm is turned on / off when you manually use the key. Do you have 2 keys?? Just use the second key if so!!

'mr minute' can do a new complete key. just take your old key in, and they can read it, and program a new one for you. i got one about 2 years ago and it was $80. they did it while i waited. worked fine, never had a problem. that was for my old VS by the way, which is the same key as a VY

It doesnt work for VY's they have something extra in the BCM that the VS-VX didnt have. Only place for a VY-VZ key program is Holden.

There is another thread somewhere about a mob that supplies replacement buttons for key heads. Cost is only about $25 and you keep your existing keyhead. Worth looking into. Sorry I can't provide the link to the thread but its quite recent.
