Can I drive for a week without a cluster? What won't work?

Hey all,

I am looking at sending my cluster away to get some mods done to it, but will I be able to drive my car in the meantime? Airbags? Any error codes logged? An easy way to work out my speed?

So far I was thinking of borrowing a gps to use as a spedo, n obviously keeping my petrol tank full

Not a good idea mate as what happens if a cop pulls you over and sees the missing cluster

if u turn ur car on with a cluster
alot of things will say they are broken... BAAAD fault

unless ya want ya cluster to sing a song to you.. dont turn the car on without it

what mods are you having done.. cause if its not to late i can PM u the details of a company here in adelaide which can do mods to clusters

Yeah I could see most cops being a total c-word about it.

Looking at getting two things done, the blue n white led mod by our good old friend Phreddy, n also maybe a custom design backing plate (with all the numbers etc on it)

hit up the wreckers for a cluster to use while your original is getting modded

good choice with the phreddy dash mate had it done on my vy acclaim back in the day was mint!

Yeah Greg is a champ at doing those mods

AS for the wreckers idea, tried several but none would 'loan' me a cluster for a week n the cheapest was $195, not really worth it in my opinion :| hmm

You can get them on ebay for $30 man. Just find one local and pick it up. Or maybe even look in the for sale section, surely there people with parts lying around.
