its a push down
Hi there!. Im new here, I havent got my commodore yet (2004 VY executive S2), im waiting for it to be transported up to QLD from SA..... Anyway i have what might be a silly question. Can anyone tell me if the auto gear knob is a pull up or push down??? as i am looking into getting a funky knob, but it will only work on a push down.
Cheers Sam.
its a push down
Woohoo thanks for the reply.![]()
Raiden, whats involved in getting the car from sa to qld. Does the car have to be checked over by your roadworthy department or is it just a little rego paper swap over? Thanks
Nick
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
Nah just actually getting it here, i got some quotes and im going to go with moving cars car carriers so i'll get my car in a week or so when i book it but im buying it from my dad so i have to wait because he is going to get it serviced for me, cant wait!.
The paper work is just a rego swap. Ive always had holdens, i've had a VL, VR, Fontera (current) and soon to own a VY so its going to be good to go back to a commodore again i've really missed them.![]()
Check it, if i remember correctly, my old VN commodore had the "Pull up" style auto gear knob, where you had to kinda squeeze ur fingers upwards to release the lock on the gear stick, so u kinda had to pull the lever upwards to change gears.. but in the new VYs and stuff, and I think it started in the VT, you had a button at the top of the gear stick that you had to "Push down" to change gears... so I think thats what they are talk about...![]()
I am an idiot. Mine has the push button, but i thought you were referring to something else about the shifter.

All good bro... lol... checked out some of those "funky" push down auto gear sticks on eBay... not bad... but it will really stand out in the car coz you can't match it with the handbrake or anything else... so if I was gonna do something for my auto gears, I'd for for the whole satin look, with the gear, handbrake, steeringwheel spokes and even the door handles... that'd be aight...![]()
