Has any one ever had to replace the arial?
Whats involved in getting it out and getting a new one in

I would just get a VE style 'bee sting' arial. Its a roof mount thing but I think makes it look a lot better.

take the passenger side wheel off, and remove the access panel and switch over for a new one, fair easy

not to replace the antenna, all done from the whell arch, weather its a plug or just cut and solder new leads to the cable etc

there is usually a connection usually on the other side of the rubber grommet going into the interior of the car

yeh the plug/connector is just inside the passenger kick panel (l/h side, closest to the door), remove that and you will see the antena plug there. haven't replaced mine but i need too, shouldn't be too hard though.
