I need a reason
Hey...
Can someone justify to me why I should get a 2.5inch catback exhaust for my 02 S1 V6 Auto VY Commodore?
1) Will it make the car go harder?
2) Will it sound better?
3) Will it increase or decrease efficiency?
4) Is it worth $360?
I'm stuck...

Go a little harder, Increase efficiency, sound better if you get a decent muffler setup, worth $360 dunno on price for a VY but that doesn't sound too bad.

Thanks guys... that sounds good... now I'm kinda leaning towards getting the exhaust... We'll see what anyone else has to say... I'm thinking its kinda essential for a Commodore to have a good exhaust. Don't know why I put it off for so long...

Wow... that does sound like a really good price, especially for pacemakers... dang... I was thinking about extractors too, but I think I'll do it slowly, once piece at a time... plus, I need more funds... lol

Can someone justify to me why I should get a 2.5inch catback exhaust for my 02 S1 V6 Auto VY Commodore?
1) Will it make the car go harder?
Marginally - barely able to measure.
2) Will it sound better?
Nope - V6's always squawk like a constapated duck nomatter what you do to them.
3) Will it increase or decrease efficiency?
Slightly increase exhaust efficiency. Probably won't notice any difference when it comes to fuel usage.
4) Is it worth $360?
Yeah - I'll give you $360 for your VY...... Oh the exhaust..... sounds a fair price to me but I wouldn't bother with an otherwise stock engine unless it was rusted out etc.

You forgot the most important question.
Will it drone?
I would try find someone with the same exhaust & go for a drive before parting with your money. Unless of course your exhaust is crapped out & you need to replace it anyway like reaper said.

Lol... Thanks for all that info... nice to see the facts and hear the other point of view... but yeah, my engine is pretty much stock... all I got in there is a K&N filter and a otr cai, but thats it... so no point in getting the exhaust?

Haha... the drone... my girlfriend will hate that... she likes my car quiet... I had an exhaust in my old VS commodore, and that did drone quite a bit.. yeah I would go for a drive with someone with a VY who has an exhaust, but I don't know anyone... none of my friends have Commodores.. maybe I need some new friends... lol
