VY Series 1 driver door window issue

My driver door window started doing this new thing from two days ago. Once its all the way up, it starts giving this grinding sound, which sounds like gears jumping or stripping. Does anyone know what this is?

I want to find out and get some info before I open it all up to check. Could it be some plastic part that has stripped or is loose?

Any info appreciated.

I am having a similar issue. The window is all the way up, and wont go down, can hear a 'clicking' definitely coming from within the dash, and the window trying to go down but its infrequently trying and the clicking continual. Also when i pull up the button there is no 'clicking' noise as the others have and only get the click when pressed down that it is registering, Any help or thoughts at all would be great.

I'm guessing the window regulator is broken, they have white clips on the regulator arms which slide in the window guides, common problem where these clips break off and the arm hits the bottom of the window.
Take the door trim off to have a look.

ok so I havent yet had a chance to get the door frame off as its a bit dark, but I can now here (in the silence of the night) a dull either click or knock when I pull the switch, what am i going to be looking for when i crack it open?

I gave the holden dealer a call as it was an electrical issue thinking they'd be better than a general mechanic to help me out, however was told 2 week booking time is required for any service or repair. W.T.F indeed. Dropped into my local mechanic who normally does all my work and he had a quick play determining that you can hear the motor in the door trying to work when the button is pressed, and not pressed meaning the circut is self completing and therefore shorting in the button (hence no click when pulled up).

They'll pull the set out Monday and put in a second set from one of their own cars to see if it fixes and if so will get me a new 4 button set. Will update on how it goes, if anyone has any suggestions of what I can try over the weekend to get it humming let me know still!
