First of all, hello, stumbled upon this forum when researching commodores and it seems to be a world of knowledge
Anyways, i'm considering a VY, and on sunday i'm going out to have a look at a few. A vy 2003 lumina is the one I'm mainly interested in... But I was just wondering what i should check going off the common problems that vy's have.
I know how to check most things mechanically, but i know there are some common problems with each type of car so i thought maybe i could check them in detail before purchasing the car.
Its got 110000km on it but its always been garaged and most of those k's are from freeway driving... So i guess looking at it, the car has had a pretty easy life. Its got full service history and has always been owned by an older gentleman which is definitely a plus as i know almost for sure it hasn't been thrashed...
Anyways, any suggestions would be highly appreciated and i look forward to hearing from you

A Commodore is a passion. Anything else is just a car
DON"T buy one of them, they're the biggest lemons going around.im looking at buying a ford focus
I have a mate that works for ford and he told me that these are coming back in their droves with problems.
Dont confuse me any more...im soooo reluctant to sell me commodore...but dont u guys reckon its more a blokes car than a chicks???
I went over to a ford car yard today to have a look at a focus and seriously i felt sick and i said to my partner...i cant believe im in a Ford car yard..lol
I would love to buy a new commodore but my partner keeps telling me its way to big for me that i should be getting a smaller car.
I will always be a holden chick ..thats how i was brought up..my first car was a commodore when i was 16..i may be tiny but i feel safe in the commodore for some reason..
Dont u guys diss me for lookin at the ford focus ...IM BEING PUSHED INTO IT..LOL
But thanks for letting me know about the focus being full of problems...i will be cautious with my decision and who knows i may jus stay with me commodore and get rid of the boyfriend..lol....hehehe...I really wanna stay in holden country, believe me!
