well i must say im getting more stuff wrong----the fuel is ok now down to 17 but going down

but now i have the steering wheel control playing up it VOLUME DOWN makes the volume go up VOLUME UP mutes everything and MUTE changes the channel wtf goin on

and just wondering how bad is this power steering leak how much would it cost 2 fix just dripping a tiny little patch atm bit bigger then a 50c coin

Not sure about your steering rack I guess just make sure your fluid is up. Ive had high fuel usage problem 2x and it was my idler pulley I replaced it ($35) But they gave me a plastic one lasted 2 months Now i have a metal one have had no problems since, sits on 12.6 - 12.8 But this could be something different problem for you? How many k's has your vy done

would this leak cause my car to make whining sqeeking noises when im driving only makes em around 30k and higher is when i hear them anyway

mate just take it back to the dealear to have it all fixed. theyll do it free of charge

Mine has done 155k But hey no big problems yet. But that whining could be your power steering. But yes if you have a car warranty take it back.. i just got a new radiator with my warranty! all up $60 for coolant

BTW You have a v8 i thought i had seen v6. V8's run at around 14L per 100k? Do you do a lot of around town driving?

And with your sound controls. d/c the battery i think that worked for me or get a real cd player

nah c im not too worried about petrol because i usually only do little trips 2 work and back and miss's house and i drive 2 work in the morning which is only like 15 mins away and its freezing cold. i only let it warm up 4 a minute or so so its revving more. also go over a heap of speed humps so stop starting isnt doing any wonders

hey mate u hold down mode and set the turn the the key to ignition-then let go and press mode and it scrolls through all ur stuff go to check errors i think it is if 0000000000000 double row theres nothing recoreded

i used to have the controls going wacko too. When Phreddy did all his mods on my car he resoldered the button contacts, i havent had a problem since
I think it works on the voltage divider principle, so if anything has come off the board, everythings screwed up

How do you know what the code corresponds to?

i wouldnt no there would be a manuel about codes some where onn the net or ask sum1 here im sure they would help i had nuthing so all good lol as 4 the steering wheel control started her back up 2 day and it was fine then went wacko and was fine again obviously a loose wire contact around sumwhere not 2 fussed bout it but more worried about the leak

that method you described will not give any fault codes relating to engine management side of things, only really for instrument cluster, if there is a current error, check powertrain or service vehicle soon will apear on the screen

steering rack, pull it out and take it to a steering suspension specialist and have them reco it, or buy an exchange or new one.

steering wheel controls, pull the steering wheel off and check for problems with the wiring, replace what ever necessary,

if you bought it from a dealer, by law they will give you 3 months warranty, if they say they dont, report them because its against the law

im getting around the 17 mark but its just short stop starting driving i havent had an edit as yet also i chucked in 91 octane so it my be using more fuel there also im not sure?

i had my fuel usage checked by a well knowen holden dealer and they said nothing was wrong but driving it nicely it sits between 17 - 22 l/100

yeh thats how mines goin atm i got it down to 16.7 but cos i only do like 15 min trips it stay around the 17-19 mark

yep i know how you feel. ill let you know next week some time wen i get my car bak coz its at the car yard geting new tranz and new progrm put in the computer they rekon the new program will fix it. ill let you know wether it does or dosent
