maybe 5 seconds of ticking on first start up, then its gone. noisy lifters and will b replaced soon.
ticking at 40k's etc? id b going back while you got some sort of warranty.
who knows you might have some hectic piston slappage, take it somewhere get them to sus it out then go back to where you got the car from.
dont no why you havent already every post i see you have a new problem, i went back for all sorts of things in the first few weeks, all was fixed.

lol yeh its an hours drive why im really tryn 2 make sure its not somthing i can fix myself before i take it back plus having no car is a big hassle but i think im gunna have to it passed an racv test but it should never have been let out of the dealership as it is unroadworthy so they have either hidden it or racv has missed it or been paid off lol

oh yeh and the petrol reading i believe is showing wrong might have 2 get the 02 sensors checked aswel i did the instaneous fuel thingy i never went over 13 and my reading went from 18.1-18.2 lol how does that work when im driving normally it goes down? there could be nothing wrong im just paranoid i do small trips every day so i think that might be a factor also but ohwel lol i still love the car regardless just these little niggly things tick me offffffff

yeh i have a ticking noise in mine on start up and for a bit when driving? could this be piston slap in my gen3 or lifters?
if anyone knows someone in the south east suburbs(round cheltenham/dandenong areas) that would be able to help id the ticking in mine that would be greatly appreciated as i have extended warranty and would like to get on top off it and find out if its piston slap or just lifters.
it went away when i switched oils from nulon to castrol edge, was only there for a few seconds on start up, but has been slowly getting worse, any ideas very helpfull, holden told me if there's something wrong in a gen3 u'll hear it from a mile away and wouldn't look into it saying it should be fine. but they did fix my ****ed auto under used car warranty and i had a fuel problem when i first bought it too, simmilar to yours joey-19, i got holden to do the fuel calibration and it was good, dropped down to high 13's low 14's and changed fuel filter and spark plugs and was a bit better again, good luck with it, hope some of this helps.
