Unhappy Has any one thought about replace the fuel tank with monaro's??

    Hi every one

I just think about replace my vy commodore's fuel tank with the 2006 monaro's fuel tank and that because I wanna had a custom exhaust system with 2 side pipes (like the monaro) cuz I'm totally sick of that one side pipe

so does the tank gonna fit in my commodore ?
and if its doesn't ,what can I change to do that and what I need to do that.

    that's all .

Well, seeing the monaro is a coupe and not a 4 door sedan, you may run into issues.

I wouldn't know about the fuel tank but a twin system on a v6 will drone like crazy.

It would be possible but then again why bother? The US GTO/Monaro fuel tank was mounted in the boot between the rear wheel arches to comply with US crash laws. There was a massive steel frame that protected it (just in case your car was rear ended at 150mph). From memory the filler was moved but I honestly can't recall for sure.

Just get your self a fuel cell in the boot, i think you would run into many problems trying to fit a monaro tank

you can put a twin system in without changing the tank.

the system will come from the headers and stay split but side by side, all the way to just after the tank, then one will continue straight the other will go behind the rear bar and out the other side.
