Hey guys I have a real annoying problem with water getting into boot lid and whenever i open my boot I get water all over my boot install (currently working on, Thread to come)
Does any one know how this could be fixed? It is a Vy Senator so it has a rear factory spoiler. Could the spoiler be causing this problem? or is there another known problem

im guessing maybe the rego plate seal no sealing correctly, are you able to get in the boot with a light or two while having someone hose the car?

do you guys mean its comming out of holes or the way it happens in the vts where when u open the boot the water flows along the boot and in to the bootspace
ur seals between the spoiler and boot are buggered, one easy and quick way that might fix it is to remove the spoiler and put rubber bushers on, I remember when i was taking mine off the was this black silicone sort of stuff around the screw which was a pain to get off, but im pretty sure that black stuff stopped water from coming in. My spoiler didnt come out of factory, the previous owner got it put on.
haha, I had a VR with the same problem, but as it wasn't an expensive car I decided to drill holes in the bottom of the boot lid to drain the water.
i have the same problem on my vx berlina where the complete tail light plastic thing seems to trap the water. Ive taken it off and all the seals seem fine, its just a bad design, will be drilling holes in the bottom too.
I have this problem, looks to me as if its going in through my spoiler where the wiring goes to the LED brake light. There isnt any washer around the hole (well not on mine). I have just picked up a rubber washer and put it there. Hopefully will stop the leak, will wait and see I guess.
I have a VY SS and the same thing happened, I checked all the seals and could not find where it was coming from so I just drilled a series of holes along the bottom edge and rust treated the fresh metal and spot painted the holes....problem fixed.
Had a bit of spare time on Monday and decided to take the spoiler off. The "gaskets" were pretty much stuffed. All I had to do was replace the foam under the spoiler (each side), scored this from Mitre 10 Mega for $11NZD and RTV'd around the holes for extra protection. Re-assembled everything and gave the car a hose off later on in the arvo no leeks. Further to this, being a S model commodore, I also too off the black surroundings around the number plate and RTV's the screw holes. Hopefully everyone else has a bit of luck fixing it.
