    Default Problem with handbrake

My handbrake in my VY won't stay on. Something has happened to the rachet thing that holds the handle up. If you hold the handle up manually it will hold the car in position so the braking side of things is still working, but as soon as you let the handle go it drops straight back down. Anyone know how to fix this. (The button at the end of the lever is not stuck in).

the pin under it has broken off. been doing handbrakies??? you'll have to take the handbrake apart and inspect it, I haven't pulled apart a vy one yet, but I'm sure holden could advise you how over the phone.

nothing could be broken, my mate had the same problem last week with his car it had seperated inside the handbrake lever, he just took the cover off and hooked it back up and presto it was all good again.

    cheers

Took cover off and the plastic lever had come unhooked. Hooked it back in but it keeps coming out again. Plastic knob that clips in has worn down so looks like I will need a new plastic lever.

    Thanks
