    Default VY Fuel Gauge Dramas

Hi, Over the past week after about 5 minutes of driving my 2004 VY Series II S Pack, the fuel gauge suddenly drops from 1/2 tank of fuel to empty whilst still driving then commencing to sound the low fuel alarm. I know I definately have 1/2 a tank of fuel. If you immediately stop and turn off the ignition then back on again the fuel gauge commces to operate normally again. I have checked all of the fuses and relays to no avail. Has anybody experienced this problem and can tell me how to rectify this problem? Thank you.

I've had it happen on my VT. Usually related to how I've parked ie passenger side down so that fuel levels away from the filler side. When investigated the fuel relays were fine (I've had all the recalls done) The dealer couldn't find anything. the suggested maybe filter or pump but with no fault codes they couldn't say.

I find the gauge really sensitive to the postion I park in.

    Cool

Yeah I've had similar problem with my VY S11 , holden ran my vin on their computer & advised me there was an outstanding factory recall/warranty for a fuel guage calibration, which they performed for free just last week, even though the car is well out of warranty. cheers

I bought my VY SS new in sept 2003- my SS is the last dated of August 2003 series 1 and the series 2 came out in September.

After I bought the car I had to go to HOLDEN to get an update for the fuel gauge as HOLDEN sent us out a letter to fix a fault in the car. a.k.a = FACTORY RECALL.........

Maybe your car never got the update and it needs it????????
