most of these obscure tyre brands originate from South East Asia and are built to very low standards. Low quality, low roadholding, low performance and low price.

Tyres are definitely an area where you get what you pay for.

If you need to ask what a brand is when it comes to anything, generally there is a reason why. Be careful of tyre places pushing this crap onto you. While they say it is as good as other rubber it is generally because 1. They make more selling them and 2. They make commissions selling them. I would love to see the Aust Government enforce a tyre policy that stopped this rubbish getting into our country.

I had a set on the turbo pulsar a few back. Really can honestly say, I gave these tyres an absolute canning and the stood up to it, however the side walls aren't very strong. I ripped the **** out of one, on the side fender, with too much lock.

for the price mate, I can't see any hassles. the tyres have to pass quality testing and meet australian standards to be able to be sold here. Obviously the have. just check the speed rating first.

$1300? What a rip... hankooks for that price would be a whole lot better.

Is all the above info specific to one brand of tyre? Again, obscure, the Austyre bit makes you wonder if its a Bob Jane special, made under some deal with another manufacturer. Again, you get what you pay for. Some of the cheaper brands market larger size tyres, like the ones you have listed, and they are really cheap compared to reputable brands, but it comes down to what you can afford and what you expect of a tyre. They might work well but only last 10k, they might slide like a bar of soap on a wet floor and last 80k.

Got quoted $310 a corner for 19's. Figured would be a waste of money considering Maxx only cost me $350 a corner. Through my local beaurepaires guy

Seriously, I can't believe how many people put their life at risk using **** tyres. Tyres and brakes are one thing that should never be skimped on.
