looks genuine. doesn't phase me, if it is a fake it won't go near the car, as that is too damn dangerous when it comes to playing with airbags. hope it is. I got qouted $290 for one from holden. fingers crossed

Sounds like the 'we're too lazy' response I keep getting from my local dealership finding local mechanics far more thorough and helpful. Haha just dont sit infront of it as you disconnect no mask required. Its actually quite a simple process to do just make sure its dead straight when you disconnect so that the new wheel keeps the current correct alignment.

yeah that's garbage, when I had mine changed my local holden dealer had no problems doing it as it was genuine but they wanted something like $150 to change it idiots, I ended up finding another service center locally that did it for $40.

I'm not sure, if the hsv one differs from this more than just having the silver inserts as oppose to charcoal ones.

Just for the horn pad? f$$k me, also you can get the silver inserts and throw them onto your wheel before you get it fitted, from memory I think they're just screwed on.

That's a wheel from a S/SV6/Berlina/Calais. It's NOT the sport profiled wheel you'll find in a HBD, SS, or HSV.

The bloke also says it won't fit a VZ - I reckon that's bollocks.

I've just picked up a really nice HBD wheel from NVU - it's brand new, sport profile, and finished in black leather with silver specks in the "side wrap" bits. Looks slick!!

(cost a bit more than the one referred to here, but it's heaps nicer - will probably fit it this weekend....)

I bought the same one, they are really good... I took it to my local holden dealership but they charged me $100 to put it on... I also got them to put the chrome inserts in but that only a screw each. The only reason i payed $100 was i could find a spanner the same size as the nut that holds it on, i think it was a 26mm one! I was also worried about the airbag but i believe you can just disconnect the batt and its fine.....

Heh - I've had more than a few airbags off the wheel....

The satin chrome inserts?? They were on the wheel I got - I'm taking them off to fit my own carbon fibre ones.

I'll be putting my original SV6 wheel (the same as the one referred to in the beginning of this thread) up for sale with the satin chrome spoke trims if anyone's interested. The car's 3 years old, but the wheel is in great nick.

G'day Farlig! Hope you're doing well Mate.

    Cheerz!

    ANSWERING OWN QUESTION HERE:

this is a HSV wheel, can't see the difference in size without a comparison photo front on. looks quite nice. thicker around 10 and 2 o;clock. side inserts aren't separate.

but considering these wheels cost $390 from HSV and your need your build number to prove you actually own a HSV to purchase one. I'll stick with my purchase and put the extra cash away towards owning a real HSV one day.

From what motorama holden in springwood told me (my local), they will change anything on the car so long as it is a genuine holden product. Sounds like you have a lazy service centre

From what i can gather, all these wheels are spare from the ltd edition Lumina's. As for it not fitting a VZ, i agree with Phreddy "Bollocks".

$530 for a HSV horn pad sounds about right (if somewhat unreasonable). Gotta remember that its got the airbag setup with it. I'll wait til I have a HSV before i start looking at the horn pad tho

Sorry for the double but i got a feeling the nut that holds it on is the same size as your wheel nuts so you can use the jack arm to remove it. Or so i've been told.

people say the wheels wont fit certain cars, vz wheels fit as low VT its the AIRBAG's that need the modified clock spring.

I have a VZ HBD option on my VY S, and it fits fine... did it myself. Will do any1 elses near glenny for $30 ahah
