    Default Front rotors and pads

    Hi All,

I need new brakes for my SS.

So, slotted? what pads? was thinking EBC RED Stuff?

Are aoy of you aware of a whole-saler for brakes?

I would like more bite and stopping power. the standard is, well, crap...

I know this question has been asked before however i need a current supplier.

Do not get EBC Reds... they are a race pad and only work well once hot so will be no good for street use.
If you don't want to spend 3k+ on a good brake setup that gives you a lot more bite and stopping power, then the best thing to do is get some RDA slotted rotors from Not_An_Abba_Fan on these forums (about $70 per rotor i think) and get QFM Police Spec pads from GSL Rally Sport (sponsor on this site).

The red stuff work fine on my car for normal driving? They also have less dust, in fact I wont switch away from redstuffs now.

I would also recommend going EBC rotors, don't buy DBA, RDA etc, pieces of crap.

I've got DBA slotted with Bendix Ultimates. The Ultimates are pretty good pads but they are very very dusty. I've had EBC Green Stuff previously and they were alot better dust wise. Might try Red Stuff next. Think I paid $110 each for the rotors and about $150 for the pads.

    Hi mate,

What are you using the car for that you feel you need Red Stuff pads? If you're after the ultimate in street brakes, then the QFM A1RM is a slightly higher performing pad than Red Stuff, whilst remaining 100% streetable, ie. low dust and rotor wear, and excellent cold bite.

And is MILES cheaper at JC pricing of $191 front and rear delivered.

Or else if you don't plan to do any track work, and just want an excellent high performance street pad, then the QFM HPX is quickly becoming the pad of choice for most people on here. Same performance as something like a Bendix Ultimate, but virtually no dust and low rotor wear etc and can be had for $131 front and rear delivered:

Rotors, either myself, or NAAB does RDA. But more importantly worry about your brake fluid. I'd recommend just getting those group buy slotted rotors, HPX pads, and then spending some good money on fluid, like an RBF600. The one we recommend is the TRW Lucas RBF600 Racing Brake Fluid, and its $59 for a 1L bottle. We use and recommend the Lucas fluid over something like Motul or the Castrol SRF because its completely Dot 4 compatible, meaning that if you are stuck with having to fill up with another Dot 4 fluid, you won't have compatibility issues (just like mixing octanes in fuel, won't be a problem, but obviously lose performance).

Any question feel free to give me a bell on 1300 883 836.

I would also recommend going EBC rotors, don't buy DBA, RDA etc, pieces of crap.
That's novel considering ALL EBC rotors sold in Australia are RDA rotors that have been gold passivated and slotted/dimpled in Melbourne under license to EBC. So if you've got EBC rotors you've actually got RDA rotors!

I thought red stuff were more a track pad, and the green stuff were better for road use? Have also heard RDA are EBC rotors somewhere on the net (other than gslrallysport above).
