vy dash cluster change over

hey all my ride is 2002 vy and i dont like the of the dash cluster in it so i brought a monaro cluster cheap. i went to put it in my car and realised its a different colour plug! the difference is 1 slot on the monaro cluster is on the bottom not the top.

Any help would be great!

what model monaro is it out of? The plugs do differ from vy/vz

i dont know mate!the monaro cluster plug is blue and mine is grey

VY and VZ clusters are slightly different. If you plug a VZ cluster into a VY, the fuel gauge works in reverse and i think you distance to empty is screwed (someone please confirm what happens). Now from what i know it should plug in... can you plug it in and test it?

Even series I & Series II are different. Can't put a series II cluster in a Series I and vice versa.

the blue plug is a VZ dash, the different fuel senders is not 100% defined by series 1 or 2 theres an overlap period where it could be either, mostly utes but i have seen them in sedans too, never seen a reverse sender in a wagon though.
