Automatic hanging in first
hi guys,
i have a wk statesman automatic with gen III.
last night my car started hanging in first really bad. it wont change into second gear unless u back off the throttle or let it clime way high in revs, like about 4500 to 5K. and if u just gas it then it just stays in first and bounces of the limmiter for a few seconds then eventually changes to second. and it seems very first gear happy (jumps back to first gear at the drop of a hat if u aply to much throttle)
i think it could be a burnt out 1st to second solenoid in the gear box. the cars under warrenty still so ill take it in.
has anyone had a similar problem with a VY or WK
just wondering whay u guys thort it mite be.

actually its dropped second all together. and its booked in at holden 2morrow. it better be covered on warrenty.
i have a vr that dosnt even go in 1st gear just has second and third......silly gearbox?

Sounds like the clutches in 1st & 2nd are mucking up, like u said it could be the solenoid causing this.
Can't really comment, as i drive a manual.

it sucked what happedend holden with ther knolage i think the box is stufed just replace it dont go out of the way to fix the valve body thats too hard
