Door won't open

Okay on my car the drivers side back door won't open at all. It is on child lock but it is also like that its stuck on deadlock. We mentioned it to a mechanic and well he said he would take a look at it. But I would rather go see another mechanic as hes the one that scratched my mags. And he deals with more older cars and fords.
Would I have t take it to any auto electrician?
Also how much am I looking at?

Probably the door acuator, common problem in the vy's.

Take it to a panel shop mate.
They deal with these things on a daily basis. Mechanics don't and he'll be just guessing.

Holden makes cheap crappy door handles. I broke both my front door handles. The main part is made of brittle plastic which breaks. You can unscrew the door cover and take the door handle off to check.

You can buy a new door handle for about $20 on Ebay, but it will cost about $50-100 to paint it and put it on. Only buy a new one, becuase the second hand ones are usually broken in the same spot.

Dont buy from a mechanic because I paid $180 for the first one and a mate spray painted my second one for free. I fitted it for the cost of $20.

Its not the door handle its the actual lock. Which now is working again. Stupid thing.
