    Default Dual Zone air conditioning

There are numerous posts regarding conversion of the standard air conditioning to climate control air, and the general opinion seems to be that it is a big and time consuming job, not to mention the cost.

What about upgrading the single zone climate control in a Berlina to the dual zone from the Calais?

Is it just a matter of changing the controls in the dash, or is there more needed inside the evaporator/heater box? Anyone know?

    Hello Calaber
As far as i am aware there are a few changes
you are correct with the climate control buttons on the dash, they will need to be changed
but inside the airbox instead of their being 1 air mixing door, that is split into 2.
also, id take a stab and guess that the actual HVAC box has more plastic inside it to keep each sides air from mixing, but this im only guessing.

The berlina BCM should be able to handle it though, because as far as im aware there isnt too much interaction between the HVAC system and the BCM, its just simple data like light level, engine revs etc... that gets provided to the unit.

if the berlina BCM didnt handle it though, you can just get that switched for a calais BCM... thats not difficult, ive had it done in my berlina.

someone else might know if the actual cars interior loom requires an upgrade, but so far my car hasnt needed it for anything ive fiddled with

    Hi xtr3

It sounds like you've had this conversion done yourself - if so, was it expensive?

It is actually very useful. In summer I love the cold air, the mrs does not she likes it mild, she has her side set at 25, I have mine at 21. It is bloody brilliant. Would love to see quad zone for people in the back too.

I've wondered about this too. Is the SS BCM a high enough spec to handle it? It's got single-zone climate control obviously.

My missus is like minux says and always wants it a bit warmer than I'd like.

But again, I dont know exactly because its not a popular mod, so not much info on it.

Yeah, got no doubt myself that it would be handy. He just reckons that they never really used it.

I am thinking of same mod for the same reason. I prefer normal temp setting than what what my wife prefers.
Anyway, looked at my Gregorys manual and I found that dual have two fan motor.
So I guess there more into it to change it.
