I've noticed (and I am an overly picky person) that when I press the break (especially when car is driving slow in standstill traffic or stationary) the breaks make a sound as if there is tension. Like a crackling... its hard to describe. Its not loud yet noticeable within the cabin. Holden says its normal, would this be normal? I bought the car private so there is no dealer to take it back to and ask.
crackling?? so its not just a bit of **** on your pads? you been driving on dirt or stoney or muddy roads??
Not a growling noise like when the brakes are just letting go and you hold pressure and the car creeps forwards
My VZ does this

No, happens when in park too. but I tried again now and its fine again. Car getting serviced Thursday by Clarkson Holden in WA. I told them if they take care of me, I'll give them repeat business. I hope they look after my car... I'd had too many fools service my cars in the past who either knew nothing or just did care.
