Hi guys,
The stock single CD player in my VY Acclaim wagon keeps resetting back to the start of the CD every time I turn the ignition off.
About 5 seconds after I turn everything off and take the key out of the ignition the player lights up again and you can hear the cd player reseting. Everything else works great but this little issue is driving me nuts. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Rod
Sounds like the power is not being supplied to your head unit when not in accessory position. Check with a test light to make sure that there is power on one connection when the keys are out and 2 when in accessories position.
Also, stop complaining? My unit swallowed one of my CD's and jammed it in there good. I havn't had time to take the whole unit apart yet so i can't play CD's at all.
one how long have u had the deck for there is a tiny battry in the that keeps all its presets im not sure if it does the cd as well but im guessing it would probably worth having a look at
If your interested Ive got the stock single stacker blaupunkt and Ive got the 6 stacker head unit off the SS. PM me if your interested, both of them have security codes. but it does seem like when the car is turned off your not getting a constant hard active to the head deck
Yea sav, your right. I'm so busy especially this week! I'm working every day this week. 7 days. What a drainer, and then i'm working every day up until christmas and then boxing day too. Then i have 1 day off!
I am looking at a new head unit though. But it retails for $1499! So i think i might save a bit first. I've bought a $17 FM Transmitter which should arrive in the next few days so i can listen to my iPod in the car so i dont go crazyThat will give me a bit more saving time for the head unit which i will probably get for $700ish.
you can probably get a double din lcd screen h/u for not too much more than $700!
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll have to pull it out to check if it's getting power when accessories is off.
cewing, this touch screen head unit will play XviD and DivX movies, karaoke, 3 RCA inputs, iPod connection available, can recieve TV (with another box too). Can play MP3 DVD's too. So i will never have to change the disc when it gets to the end of the 700MB of MP3's (on a normal MP3 CD unit) LOL
If i'm saving up for one, i may as well spend a little extra and get a **** load of features
No problem bluerod99, if you still have problems then you might need to give your car a reset (just remove the battery connections for about 30-60 minutes).
sorry, for some reason i thought u was buying the 'upgraded' holden blaupunkt unit for 700. i know they are worth that much new, crazy eh. it just popped into my mine when i posted.
I've seen a few good pictures on the net and this forum of good double din dvd screens in vy's, when done right it looks classy as
My Cd player also jammed one of my Cds. Just unhook the battery for like 5mins... wait for cd player to reset and then put battery back on... turn ignition and should work.... Did for me... give it a try and post back.
I was actually thinking about resetting the whole car and seeing what that would do the other day. I got enough time today to do it and yep, CD came straight out and went back in and started playing! That gives me a bit more time to buy a head unit!![]()
Hey guys, not sure if anyone has seen this prob before I haven't found any posts about it elsewhere (doesn't mean they're not there tho, prob just missed em ha ha.)
The Blaupunkt 6 stacker in my VY 2 S Pack has lost it's voice. The CD player still plays and the radio still tunes etc, but there is absolutely ZERO sound coming out of the speakers. Nada. Was working fine when it was turned off, but had nothing when I turned it back on. I'm wondering if it has a speaker protection fuse in it somewhere? There was a pretty heavy dew that night so I'm wondering if something got wet and it blew a fuse to protect from shorting speakers?

Not sure, i know my left speakers used to cut out occasionally, hasn't happened since i removed the battery for 10 minutes. Maybe give that a shot?
I'll give it a go, anything is better than singing to myself ha ha

Nope, dammit, didn't work. Anyone else got any ideas? Does anyone know if there is a protection fuse in the back?
