Default VY to VZ headlight change..

Hi guys, getting a VY II SS ute and im changing the front end to a VZ Calais as its way better looking than the VY SS or VZ SS one. My question is anyone know whats the go with changing the headlights, is there any little wiring mods that need to be done to make them work 110% properly.

    Thanks.

As far as i know you just get right the wiring loom and your set. Won't you have 2 little gaps under your headlights as the vz calais is pretty much a rectangle while the vy ss has that little extra light thingy? If you know what i mean?

He is changing the whole front end so it will be all good there. See if someone can post up a pic of their headlight connectors and compare it to your own. Id do it but i cant find the usb cable for anything that takes photos

You will still have to change the bonnet over as well. The VY and VZ bonnets are different and they don't facilitate a simple swap over unless you change the lot.

The VZ grille is wider than the VY and the small section cut out from the bonnet to accommodate the grille in each is different, as well as the two raised ridges on the VZ bonnet, which align with the VZ bumper facia. If you put a VZ bumper and grille on a VY, but didn't change the bonnet, I don't think the bonnet would close because of the wider grille. Could be wrong, never seen it attempted, but it would still look odd because of the different bonnet pressing.

yeh calaber pretty much nailed it on its head. Vz and Vy have different shaped headlights, vy are little bit longer and more curved, ur better of getting a vy series 2 calais setup, they will have the fog lights and the the twin slotted black headlights aswell. They are pretty much bolted on

Have you sorted it yet James? Will look tuff with the Calais front end.

Should maybe get a maloo tailgate/bumper aswell to clean up the plain looking back end.

Just go for a VY 2 Calais front end, looks tougher than the VZ Calais IMO.
