Default help diagnose my climate control problem pls?

Hi all, i have a VY Calais supercharged V6 with dual zone climate control and today we were driving in a 100km/h zone with the climate control on and also cruise set at 100km/h as soon as we came to a slight hill or steepish hill the car kept constant speed but the iar con stopped blowing air from the face vents and blew air from the front demist vents only. this all went back to normal when the road flattened out again but happened agaion at every rise in the road? could it be a vacuum related problem? if so where do i start to look for the problem?

There has been another thread on this matter recently. The fault has something to do with the vacuum control valve in the air con under the dash. Check the Electrical or Air-Conditioning forums to pick up the thread.

this has been discussed in the vt-vx section, i have the same issue you need to remove the right hand panel open the fuse cover and there are two little screws which you undo and the panel closest to the centre console the lower comes off and the and the white cylinder is behind the radio check the vacum thing it is a white plastic cylinder and also behind the glove box their are hoses and other stuff to check but i have not had time to check this myself yet

THanks for the replies, maybe you can try and give me some info after you have been to holden.

i am sure it has to be something simple to do with the vacume.

    Thanks tezza

hi i have a VY SS 5.7 ute it has a problem where it will only blow air out the windscreen demistter and its the same whether the car is running or not and i checked for vacum on the back of the swithces and there was none so i pulled the engine cover off and checked the hose comming thru the fire wall and it was split so that was how i fixed my car hope it helps. also there is a vacum controll bottle that cracks its located undre the bonnet near were you fill up the window washer fluid if it cracks you will need to replace it also the reason the car goes to demist is due to that being the default setting
