And the general consciences is to go a grade higher with the use of LPG.
0W-40, 10-W40 etc.
Looking at the Mobil Lube guide, they now specifically recommend
Mobil Delvac MX 15W-40, but the mobil engineer said all there oil contains detergents to Break down acid’s caused by the use of LPG and Diesel fuels and the Delvac contains more than the standard amount of detergent.
Anybody had any experience with the Delvac on gas?
Yes, buy the Repco Diesel 15W40. Its the same oil rebottled. Delvac MX is one of the best oils you can get. Most oils can cope with LPG, but this one of the best. It is a Diesel spec oil, hence the greater additives, for anti wear, and detergents. I cannot believe the oil spec for a VY is 0W-30. Where are you meant to get this oil ??? I have never seen it, only Fuchs have something close i think. Like i said get it in the Repco version, SL-CI 4+ . Use it for 7000k's minimum. These are long drain capable oils.
Just thought I'd add to the above..
I am currently using nulon syn 15w-50 in my dual fuel VY2..
I tried using penrite hpr10 10w-50 but it didn't really like it..
Planning on trying the nulon syn 10w-40 at the next service..
The car has 142 thou on it..
