Where to get badges...

I'm after two ' S ' badges for my ute. And i was wondering where i could pick them up from and a rough price tag?

Yeah. Don't get fooled into ebay prices. They seem cheap, and people will say 'rare' 'no longer available from holden' for most parts that still are, hoping you don't check!
Any holden dealer who has spare parts will have them, or be able to get them.

SS badges are readily avaliable, Not so sure on the S ones. Keep in mind the bootlid badge is a different size to the door ones (thinking the bootlid is the smaller one, but not 100% sure)

Just buy a SS badge and seperate the S's

Yes, boot lid badge is smaller.
boot lid SS badge is $18 but a complete SS package (all 3 badges) is around the $83 mark from Holden.

One more question: if i can find a wreckers round here that MIGHT have one on a car, whats the best way to get it off of panel in the yard, with minimal damage to the badge?

Fishing line. Get the line behind the badge and move it up and down along the back of it.

Its not worth it, you'll spend hours reapplying the tape to get it to stick on (i remember doing this on work experience at a panel beater).

For $80, how can you go wrong!

Its just double sided tape as far as i know, but it was a head**** to work with. I'm pretty sure it was that single task that drove me away from that field, even tho it has nothing to do with panel beating lol

Yep, thats what the white backing is on the one i took a pic of for you. I'd sell you some, but ran out of S ones a while ago!

Did you do that yourself? What sort of paint would you use, and would you have to sand/prep it at all?

You probably should, i didn't however. Gave it a quick sand with 120, then sprayed.


Theres another thing you can try, theres a company in QLD who do coloured chroming. I have another one of those badges on its way there to see what the red turns out like. I assume they can do black aswell!
