I might have posted this on the wrong forum so if so sorry...
i did the 2 hole mod earlier on today, making a whole on the ride side of the box (if looking from rear of vehicle). pointing the piping down towards the open spacing between engine and radiator fan.
after taking the car for a drive i noticed a definate induction growl at around 2.5-3k revs.
When i brought her home and opened up the bonnet i notice the PVC piping had got really hot and morphed a bit.
am i in danger of melting the pipe over long trips?
thanks.

Wouldnt that mean its sucking in hot air from the eng & radiator?
Over long trips the plastic would get very warm if not hot.

The only other thing I'd fibreglass the hole up thats on the engine side of the airbox, or if you've never played with fibreglass, just get some thick a** plastic and gap seal it on the inside, paint it black, good as new lol..
