PCM Make/Model

Hi,

Is there a database or information source somewhere that lists the year commodore and whether it is an all in one PCM (Trans/Engine) or separate units, and what part code or model numbers will interchange.

Are the stock PCM's interchangable I mean does the car care what PCM is plugged in provided its the same year etc, like are they vin locked or anything?

Initial help with my VY 2004 is required but 2005 SS VZ im also interested in.

the VYV6 uses a Delco IPCM6F similar to the VT buf Flashprogrammed
VYV8 uses the Delphi PCM32
VZV6 uses a Bosch flash programmed unit & seperate Trans Controller
VZV8 uses a different version of the Delphi PCM32
all engine controllers are linked the the BCM/PIM in the car & cannot be swapped without relinking to the security system.

Thanks for that Bob, is it possible to re link the ecu's with ignition position, button presses etc, or is it something that requires a flash cable and software of some kind?

Is there a thread already on this subject somewhere I have missed?

relinking VX-VY can be done using software if you have it
V8 can be relinked using aftermarket cables & software
VZV6 i think can be relinked the same way
the easiest way is to use the GM specific Tech2
