vy ute lookin for help

hows it goin

i have a vy commodore 2002 II v6 ...just it seems a little sluggish does anyone no why ..

my mate has a lancer and beats me off the line up to 80km then i start to get him back but still its a v6 with a k&n air filter and Extractors Exhaust

thinking of puttin a ss big mouth air intake on it ...

so anyone who can help we would be good or tell me other mods i can do to help im on my red p plates so i cant put turbo or nothing like that .

wont be a series II being a 2002 model,

auto or manual?

CAI will help,

maybe some YT high ratio rockers?

tune,

some ignition work? L67 coil packs, good leads

in the end its still only a 6 and is quiet a bit heavier then the lancer

I drive a 1.5L lancer and a 3.8L eco berlina and the berlina is a mile quicker than the lancer. To me it seems like something is wrong. Is the lancer stock or a quad turbo, 17 BOV ricer? Just doesn't seem quite right to me.

yeah something must be wrong? dont put sh*t on me but i gotta vy series 1 spack and i keep up with my friends vz with extractors n other minor stuff... and he used to stuff around at noble maccas with all the other ppl and killed a rexxie.... not sure if the rexxie driver was crap but yeah. thats from what i know. maybe the previous owner thrashed it o.O

You sure the lancer isn't an EVO lancer? Bit faster than a standard one lol

if u dont drive it right than a lancer will beat u are u just dumping your foot on the accelerator cause if so she wont move use your gears as well

the ONLY time lancers and the like beat me in my old V6 was when i was experiencing massive amounts of traction loss........ thats it.

Ive owned a 1.5 lancer........an Evo.........a 3.8 ecotec VT.....and now a VY SS ute..

And in regards to how quick they are goes in this order

1. EVO
2. VY SS Ute
3. VT 3.8L
4. Lancer 1.5L

There has to be something wrong with your ute man, its not right.
