Default Warped brake rotors?

When driving at slow speed (I try and avoid this, but it has to happen some time) with a window down, I can hear a sort of 'scuffing' noise coming from the rear wheels. It sounds like it only happens once briefly on each revolution of the wheels, and because of this the sound is less obvious as road speed increases. I'm guessing here, but was wondering if one or both of the rear rotors is warped? I have removed both rear wheels in turn, and noted that the brake pads are in contact with the rotor. When the car was last serviced, I queried this with Holden and was told this is how the pads should be set up.
Has anyone else experienced this situation, and if so, is it a fairly common fault- and how can I fix it?
BTW, the car is a 2003 VY series 2 SV8.
Thanks!

Could get your rotors machined.

When you jack the rear of the car and spin the tyre. Can you hear it gripping sch... sch... sch.. in relation to how fast its spinning?

How it should be set up?? Thats unusual. I can understand being a mm or so either side of the pads. But it shouldn't constantly bite.

Sounds like a warped disc I would get it checked under warranty.

Default warped rotors

yes I have had this problem with 2 of my commodores and I have had major issues with holden over the problem. I would never accept skimmed rotors, you want new ones. I have always believed you can only skim sold rotors, ventilated rotor skimming is a no no. The problem you may have is a crack in the ventilation casting between the rotor faces, when the brake is applied this crack is squashed as it passes the pads, feels like a warped disc but its not, so skimming is a waste of time as the disc is probably still true (when not being squashed by the pads)
The other problem I have had was caused by washing the vehicle and putting it straight in the garage afterwards, the water between the pads and the rotors caused corrosion, when you then use the car the rust is deposited on the leading edge of the pad, this burns off after a while but you get that skuffing noise your talking about.
