    Default traction control button

Is it possible to make the traction button work the wrong way round? as in its deactivated during normal driving and you can engage it when you want but goes back to deactivated on next start up?

its just that i prefer to drive without traction activated and if i need it i'll use it.

    Yes it's possible.

Two ways..... Get a Tech 2 to do the work.... or create an electronic circuit to simulate Trac Control being pressed at startup (turning it off).

I'm only taking a guess here but I would have thought that this switch is just a normally open push button switch... meaning each push of the button closes the circuit, sending a signal to the computer which then changes the state of the traction control electronically.

Tech2 would have to be used to reprogram the computer to have the traction control set to off by default... or like alien said, a small circuit set up to simulate a press of the button on start up, maybe with the use of a small PLC or something?

Sweer idea. I would love to do that to mine too. though i've made it second nature to turn it off so i would have to get used to not having to push it, lol.
Let us know how it works out if you can get it done.

yep.... traction control can be dangerous at time's and just full on annoying to say the least... i thought about getting a techy to do something about it but then just decided to hit the switch when i clicked my seatbelt in as it's right there. way cheaper too.

    Why's it annoying?
I've never had a problem with it. Unless you love smoking them up at every turn then it shouldn't matter.

juzo, there are certain circumstances when it's better to be without it than with it! Due to it cutting all power you have to get out of a situation! There is a badly designed U turn near my place, every vehicle i've been in has the rear end slide out unless you take it at like 5km/h (which being a 70km/h road is not wise). Even when i was driving a front wheel drive pulsar the rear swung out, and they've got no weight in the back! Anyways, the other night, a fair bit of rain had hit and was lightly coming down, had to use the U turn, had TC on (forgot to take it off), next thing i know it had kicked in, car still kept sliding (270 degrees) and narrowly missed a light pole! If i had power i would've been able to control the vehicle better!

yeah too right!! if it's not a situation like that it can be every day stuff even in the dry where for example you are taking a gap in the traffic to turn into a street and as soon as you start turning it causes a leap frog effect and just slows you down turning a simple safe manouver into a possible near miss, which will also make ya look like bit of a drongo too hehehe.
