I would not go anywhere near something like that. Welds are never as strong as the original metal, and just generally that car looks terrible.
yeah it is mate because 1 mild hit and it would tear itself apart
fit it all to another vy shell and just make a profit mate. or retro fit it all to a old commo or something cool

Haha thats F***in dodgey as hell, one of the welds doesnt even line up in the windscreen recess...
About the only thing i'd use that for is a paddock basher - (not before putting a full rollcage in it lol)
Im pretty sure you can replace the 'skin' (on the roof) but not the structural part like they have, professionally pfft..
It used to be legal once but cut and shuts aren't legal anymore :0 at least not on modern cars
nah should be sweet man.......If you wanted to buy it chop the roof back off and have a convertible
Overall that car should never see a public road again, unless its on a tilt tray to the crusher!!

i can. but you need to get it done by a professional dude thingy...
i was gonna cut the back out behind my seats and get subs in but the guys said i needa get some kind of certificate
this car shouldve been a structual write off ......
wow that car really is ****ed....but il take the engine, interior and gearbox / trans thankyou very much xD
Yeah we dont do burnouts, we do stationary wheel rotations, much more sophisticated.
modification of structural integrity certificate . ?

I have to wonder why would anyone bother doing that. So you crash your VY and have no insuranace. Wouldn't it be x5000 times better to put the running gear in a $500 earlier Commodore. Same thing in the end only straighter :P
That car is perfectly fine. For a crash and bash!
I'd hate to imagine if that thing was in a roll over..

for anyone out there that is looking to buy a damaged car, either like this one or from an Auction House (this one is a listed write off as well), you should do your home work first.
look up VIV's (Vehicle Identification Validation) on Vicroads - it tells you everything you need to do to get a car back on the road.
Fortunately, this is set up to catch dodgey repairs (and rebirths) like this one.
ALL damage info is kept on a database and is used to compare the finished product at the inspection.
the dodgey roof will most likely be found anyway.
that car is shocking is mate,it would have to have an engineers report and theres probaly a good a reason why no windscreen is fitted ,basicly everything is out of alignment ,
But as least hes not trying to hide anything in the photos a least
what a piece of crap
Holden produce a body repair manual for replacing ALL boby parts for all the cars they make.
This involves drilling out the spot welds and making overlaps in the correct places.
The VY ^^^ dosent look like it has been done by the book.
Side note - My dad put a new roof onto my sisters Datsun 180B as it had rusted away along the gutters. We have photos of it in the drive with no roof on. Had to support the car with bricks as it went like jelly once the roof was cut off.
The new roof was oxy welded into place and the car went for 10 more years.
Rust in the floor finally did it in.
