Default New radiator/fan/thermo - still overheating

    Hi guys,

Im hoping someone has seen this before or may know what my problem might be.

My VY v6 temp gauge goes up to the red (very top) with overheat dash alert, before slowly dropping down to just under middle.

This usually occurs after I've stopped at lights or in traffic, but occassionally when Im driving normally with airflow hitting the radiator I still get the overheat warning.

I have turned on diagnostic menu and temp goes up to 120, then down to 104 (needle drops again).

I have a new radiator (flushed block too at natrad)
    I have a new thermostat
I have a new large thermo fan after the old one died (new one kicks in OK at 105 degrees).

    Coolant level is good.

Any thoughts, has anybody experienced anything similar?

    Cheers
    Steve

yeah I was thinking the same.

yet a few other posts have mentioned 104 degrees as the magic number, so I didn't think any more of it.

Cracked head, blown head gasket, blocked water galleries, air lock, coolant has reacted with another brand/mixture of coolant.

    Check in that order .
