Only time ive heard it was when holding the brake down and momentarily pumping the accelerator. I knew what it was and thought it sounded cool and liked to tell my friends it was a LSD (because of the clunk) lol.

My crewman SS makes a clonking noise, only when pulling away. It is not like a delayed noise it is a cyclic low knock that gets faster as the speed increases then seems to go away above around 15kms/hr. It does not do it all the time only sometimes, any one have a suggestion?

the clunking noise you are hearing from 20k's an hour. get on the nolathane website and get your self a DIFF MOUNT INSERT. there are 2types, below vx series 1 and vx series 2 on.

your car will no longer bog down under acceration, it will reduce axel tramp. and the noise will dissapear.

they are on ebay for around $39.00, about 20mins to install.

    Interesting problem.

I have had VT , VX and now VY Commodores - all daily drivers - but have had no issues with any noise in any of the diffs or joints. The diffs were all factory LSD in each car.
