hey not driving it hard. i filled it up and only got 500 to the tank. and before i use to get 650 round town. went for a cruise yesterday and used cruise control and you could see the pin move still,
500 to the tank, still not too bad, that's close to 10 litres per 100 isn't it?
maybe you need to get it on a dyno and have the guys look at the AFR's
oh ok what is afr's
Judging by kms isn't the best way of doing it, because you're not working out your specific fuel consumption and the gauge can become inaccurate.
What you should do, is reset the trip computer when you fill up, then when you next fill up work out your consumption in L/100km. To do this, divide the amount you filled up by the number of kilometres driven divided by 100.
For example, you fill up with 42L of fuel, and you drove 325km, the consumption is
42 / (325 / 100) = 42 / 3.25 = 12.9L/100km.
Note that you have to fill the tank to the top each time to know how much you used, if you work with partial tanks this method won't work.
A healthy Ecotec should be giving you between about 11-15L/100 around town, and about 7-10L/100 on the highway. How you drive it, how much traffic etc will obviously make a difference.
Try this a couple of weeks, and if you still think you're getting bad economy, post back your results.
Dude thats still not too bad.
Are you the only driver. Could be that someone elses driving is using up that tiny bit extra. Like 2L / 100KM extra on a 500Km tank is an extra 10L consumed, so that would normally yield you another 100km.
Does that make sence.
So instead of 10L/100Km you are now using 11 or 12L/100km that extra 2 L is costing you 100Km on a full tank.
which is roughly what you were getting previosuly. It could just be the driving styles and a little more fuel usage.
Im getting 17.3lts. Car has full exhaust mafless tune and 2500 stall. Before stall it was 13lts.
the vy's have a problem with the fuel gauge they sometimes need a recalibration, could just be that, my vy did it, was lowly getting worse not long after i bought it, also had slipping auto which doesn't help, but holden recalibrated it and its been fine, even when the auto was slipping again 10 months later, so may just need a recalibration, common on the vy apparently.
ok fella thanks for the help
