VY grinding noise from rear

Hi wondering if I can get some help/advice.
I drove my VY perhaps 1.2km through back streets. Stopped at a T junction on a slight rise and when I accelerated 'gently', turning right, I heard a grinding noise and a shudder from the back end.
I immediately took my foot off the accelerator and coasted over to the curb...sat there for a minute feeling sick - opened the door and looked under the car. I couldn't see anything so I cautiously drove home the 1.2 km...I didn't hear the noise again but I'm guessing it wasn't something I should ignore.

I now feel ill wondering what's wrong with my baby?

I had the same symptoms with my WK. Turned out to be something in the breaks cause I had the rotors and the pad changed (needed to be done anyways) and it never came back.

Just a quick one; Do you also have a slight steering wheel shake at 100km/h speeds?

I had a half-shaft do that, sounded a bit like I was dragging something along underneath the car, but much louder and angrier.

It started with no warning, but once mine started it was buggered, tore itself apart.

Yes, get it checked out.

sounds like you might of had a rock caught in the rock deflector for your rear rotor
