Default How toe'y can you go??!!

    Hey guys,

Sorry if the specs are posted elsewhere, but i've been trying to find them on here..

Wheel alignment specs for a sedan..

I just got a wheel alignment on my VY today, and checking over the read-out they gave me, its says that they have now given me 6.4mm of combined positive toe on my rear end? 3.0mm on the passenger side, and 3.4mm on the drivers side...

To me this sounds a little excessive?? Ive always heard that its not so much the camber, but the toe that chews out your tyres on the rear?? (or a combination of the two)

Are these guys giving me the shaft or what?? lol..

Im going for a drive up to queensland in two days, one and a half now.. and thinking I dont really want to put two more tyres on it when I get back..

you should have about 3 mm total toe in on the rear if you have over 1.5 degree camber.
the toe in helps stop the tyres from wearing on the insides aswell

They are screwing you. I give the the vt to vz sedans 2mm of combined toe on the front (1mm per side) and 1mm combined rear (.5 per side). I have found these to be the sweet spot for these cars. You really should get this redone BEFORE you come up here to beautiful queensland. Cheers
I may be crazy, but, i am happy about it!!

Yeah thats what I rekon... F***ERS...

How can they look you in the eye and tell you that they've done a good job?? Theives, thats all they are... hahaaaa..
Peanuts Inc. I do have around 1.5 degree camber, on the left 1.47 degrees and on the right 2.15 degrees

Thanks foo27 for that, looks like im going elsewhere from now on,

And I have got 3.3mm toe for the front, 1.8 degrees on the left and 1.5 degrees on the right... and camber 0.31 dgrees on the left 0.32 degrees on the right

Should there be variations between the two sides? mainly in the rear camber?

I have lowered the car - but not recently, just got new tyres for the trip, and an alignment and they f**ked it right up.. I was watching them adjust it - and thought ohh they're doing something under there so it should be sweet, then saw the readout.... pfft.

Alrighty.. got another wheel alignment today from a different company - these guys are pretty good.. Bob Jane, at Erina, if theres any coasties on here..

I told him that I had 6mm on the rears and he looked shocked as, lol,

They took it down to .6mm and .7mm toe, so a combined toe of 1.3mm not all bad now.. and tidied up the front a bit..
