How did you get the keys locked in the car AND the deadlock on?

If you have power windows, breaking a window wouldnt be the best idea, not sure how much youd be looking at for replacing the window, but youd also have little bits of glass everywhere.

I had to get a new key not long ago for my VT and it cost me something like $80? something around that mark

    i dont get it either.
the deadlock doesnt activate if you push the door lock knob on the door itself so if they keys are in the cabin, go get another key cut ($28 without head - you dont need it) and unlock the door.
if its in the boot, i still dont know if the deadlock is on if the boot is opened - anyone?
not being up with VY's, i gather there is no key hole in the bootlid?

The windscreen may cost $200 + but you get a new screen out of it without any other damage if its done right

Yeah get a key from holden hopefully you'd just have to provide proof of ownership. A nd no there's no key hole in the boot.

Ive had windscreens removed becuase of small stone chips and they come out in one piece so there wont be no need for smashing the windscreen ,but smashing one is a lot fun and releaves the frustration of not be able to get in

    ok.
this has been tested on a VT and a VX so i cant see a VY being any different.
with the car fully deadlocked, it can still be opened by unlocking it with the car key itself.

take your VIN number from the windscreen and proof that you own the car and go to Holden and ask for your key number.
take that number to any locksmith and $28 later youll have a key in your hand.
put the key in the door and turn it - you are now in your car.

RACV obviously dont know shit about how the security system works.

I bet it wasnt removed from the outside only... lol

smashing is more fun... but try holden's for a keycut... you won't need the remote to unlock the car.
    Just my 2 cents worth...

The hazard lights come on and the doors unlock when the SRS system is deployed, but that won't happen if the car isn't running.

Are you really serious? Have you ever tried to break in through a laminated screen?

It's bloody hard to do, dangerous because of the risk of serious cuts, leads to small glass shards all over the interior, down the demister vents....

The cheapest window to break would be the rear quarter, but if the car is deadlocked, you still wouldn't be able to open the door.

    Good luck!

Thats why you get the pros to do it and get a new screen (even though sometimes they can save the old one) without any other damage or if its has a crack (hint hint) and you can claim it
    Do it that way

couldnt be bother reading but your best bet is call around a glass guy and he will charge you about $50 to take your front window out and put it back in BUT i wouldnt go smashing the front window because its sort of laminated(spelling) to stop the front window busting into a million pieces in a smash..

so your options are, call a glass guy or bust a side window
