Default Alarm goes off for no reason - any ideas as to fix ?

As thread says the alarm on my VY11 HSV XUV goes for no reason .

any one got a fix or a why ?

I've been manually locking it , so as not to activate the alarm ,
but force of habit , I click the key button and then a few hours later it goes off .

Is there a sensor I can replace ?

my VK used to be bad for going off when harleys or cars with deep exhaust notes went past used to be a little annoying.you may need to adjust the shock sensor if it has an adjustable one.

Am i wrong in assuming that the VY reports the location of the alarm trigger on the dash LCD?

I know the VZ does it. Reporting things like Boot or Drivers door.

Wouldnt it be easier to just walk out, unlock the car, put the key in the ignition and start it, then read the reason?

not 100% sure with factory, but have you changed the interior light bulb to something different? or have one at all? preety sure they would be part of the trigger system in the door (share same switch, same circuit)

has it always been doing this dude?..coz with my vy you have to use either the key to unlock and lock or the remote to unlock and lock...otherwise the alarm goes off.. i wasnt sure if it was meant to do this either but never really bothered to find out.

Thanks for that.... using the key still sets of the alarm! :@ Trying to leave a friends house last night at 5AM, trying to be quiet, i figure pressing the button will set off the two horn beeps to unlock it, so i'd use the key, that was good, it unlocked, but as soon as i opened the door the alarm went off! Everyone in her street probably heard it.

Lesson learned, always use the buttons on the key!
