senator wing on vy ss

hey guys im looking at getting rid off the wing off my ss but i want to have a smaller wing on it
do you reckon a vy senator wing would look any good on it?

depends what colour your vy is, if its silver then yeah it would look hot imo.

yea its silver would i have to fit a brake light in the rear winscreen to keep the 3 brake lights or do the senator wings have a brake light in them

Doesn't look good, The boot lip on the senator only suits because of the flowing lines of the kit, Ive seen on VY SS with it and it just looked wrong.

^^Agreed. Saw one the other day and it just doesn't suit it. Maybe get an HBD lip spoiler. Only raises the end of the boot by about 1.5cm but looks alright. I had one on my car before I removed to put a SS type spoiler on. I prefer them.

Well the senator one isnt a wing anyway, its a bootlip spoiler. it sits flush with the boot.

oh ok then cheers for that minux im definately thinking of pulling it off but will i have to connect a 3rd brake light in the rear windscreen? or can i legally get away with only 2 brake lights

yes. there is no legal requirement for 3

no legally if you remove the "eye" level light from the spoiler you must replace it. some people get away with it but i wouldn't risk it.

From what i've heard being a mechanic, if your car is fitted with three from the factory, you need to have three on there, if you fit a spoiler you need to be able to see the original one, or get one with a brake light in it, and the reverse if you remove it, if it has one fitted to the spoiler you need to have one in the windscreen...



But I dont have any written laws on that, and cbf looking for them!! just ask the local police, or rta for the requirements on brake lights....

Having said all that ...
I have taken the bulb out of my centre brake light in the wind screen, and put a sticker over it - got away with it for like 6 months, but then got sick of wondering if i'd get done or not so I put it back in and ripped the sticker off!!

Wrong, it is an ADR Requirement, thus a roadworthy requirement.
