Major CAI Problems!?!?!

Hey guys,
so I bought myself a aunger CAI, problem is the kit is not complete (bought for $180 as is), the long intake part that sits over the radiator is intact however the L shaped bend pipe that runs from the intake into the circular hole in the airbox is missing, what should i do???
Should I just make a makeshift L pipe and hook it up or do you think its not worth it and I should just get a refund (dont wanna spend $400 on a ss induction kit).
Also do the connections have to be airtight? Should I make another hole in the airbox as well for more flow or would this render the CAI useless...

sorry for the silly questions, im a silly person! last time i buy a non-complete kit! Thanks for any help/ideas you guys can give!

Can you post some pics because if it's what I'm thinking, it's not meant to have an L bend. This is what it should look like if it's what I'm talking about.
