Just checkin in guys, cars still runnin like a dream, had a few issues lately with my foglights, had one replaced from a crack caused by a stone flicking up, and then had a few wiring issues because a week later I scraped on a parking beam n popped the front left of my bumper off disconnecting the left foglight...well that was amazing and about 3 weeks later and 2 visits to a repair shop they finally fixed it, other than that cars all good still, am days off buying myself a new sound system ive finally found something I like and have enough spare cash to do something about it.

also on another note, got my sound system finally installed, XTR Orion components in front, XTR Orion rear parcel shelf speakers, Orion Cobalt 12" sub and amp, all installed for $1150. amp powering the sub and my fronts. will post up some pics soon when I can be bothered

Hoddle is the worst

Yeah hoddle does suck but its faster than any other way I could go to get home...so I kind of just have to suck it up. It's not too bad when you drive it all the time you learn which lanes flow faster in certain areas. I'm so happy its finally getting to good weather because its much better cruising up hoddle with the windows down and the tunes going scoping out everybody than sitting in a car not moving while it rains. plus my rims stay nice and shiny haha. gonna take my car for a top notch wash this weekend and take a few photo's!

New Foggie after old one's lense cracked, still worked but bothered me


Took some pics of my new system and a couple of night shots from the back to show off the blue glow. I really do need to do a proper shoot at some stage because I am way too slack to go out and find a decent spot to take photo's, these were just in my driveway..the usual suspect

I like what you've done with it, I think the wheels are nice and suit it pretty well.
If you wanna tint your tail lights head to Autobarn/Supercheap etc and ask for blackout paint or VHT Niteshades. Then just pop off the tail lights - pull back the carpet in the boot and you can see the 3 bolts. 2 of them have nuts but the 3rd one just has a plastic cover thingy over it. If the light doesnt wanna come out after youve undone the nuts just tap the plastic thing with a hammer a few times and that should loosen it up. Dont forget to take out the bulbs before you yank the light completely off either Once its off its you can put it wherever youd normally do spray painting and just spray away with the niteshades. Obviously give the light a good clean before you do it. Depending on how dark you want it you can do a few coats, I only did 1 but I didnt want mine that dark. Have a look in my ride thread if you wanna see what 1 coat looks like. Clearcoat is probably a good idea but not necessary, I didnt use it and havent had any issues yet.
The boys in blue might have something to say about it, especially if its dark. But you can just use turps to get it off if need be. Hope that helps and keep up the good work.

They look just like normal tail lights? I had been thinking about them but im still not convinced it'd be worth the effort. I have decided though not to spray my rear tail lights as I'm in the middle of getting into the Vic Police, so trouble with the boys in blue is the last thing I would want haha.

Oh i clicked the link myself and it had changed :P try clicking the show all instead of show 8, there's a few clear/smoked out ones in there. And probably not a good idea to spray them then :P

They look alright, if I did get some i would go the black altezza's or the completely black and smoked ones to go for a bit of contrast with my wheels n the car colour.

I got some new floormats today with a little white southern cross in the corner, looks pretty clean, all for a little aussie pride..on the inside of my car, looks a bit bogan if I slapped it on the back window though.

Gave my car a good clean inside and out the other day and to my absolute disgust the wheel cleaner I used on it decided to peel off half the film of one of my rims, but its not all the way off and I cant get the rest off...so it looks a bit average, got it at autobarn was just a spray on hose off type thing...not too happy about it though

ey guys, just thought i'd check in, nothing spectacular to report, cars about to notch up 170,000 and still goin strong, havent had any problems since I bought it in January. Was wondering if anybody had any information on how much it costs to get rims repaired? and if there are any around the eastern suburbs of melbourne that anyone could recommend, thanks guys!..and as aswells I'd love to hear all of your thoughts on my car and maybe mod idea's for the future!

Very nice clean ride mate! Reminds me a bit of mine haha! I love the VY's in this colour especially when they contrast between darker tailights! Anyway love the mods and hope to catch ya on the road soon!

thanks for the kind words mate, definately want to get new tail-lights but at the moment been too much in holiday spending mode and not enough on working and saving so I can get the work done on it, hope to see you around!

tinting is really easy, cover up the lower indicator/reverse light "strip" with masking tape and simply shake up the can and go across from bottom to top, i only did one coat and mine are slightly smoked

hey guys havent been on here in ages!, just thought i'd pop up and let you all know im still alive...and the cars still running lol

to scythe...no I didnt get round to booking phreddy, I'm going overseas for 3 months in august so I"ve been flat out saving for that...heading to thailand/laos/vietnam and cambodia!...should be sweet, so the modding has taken a back seat to saving unfortunately. I"ve been driving springvale rd a fair bit as I'm workin down that way at the moment.

oh and its not meant to be chromie (my number plate) cromie is my nickname (variation of last name) you"re probly all like...he doesnt even have chrome rims?!? Lol, all good.

Still enjoy driving my car every day but have considered selling up and just going traveling for ages...probly not now but oh well, let me know what you guys think and when I get cash again what I should do with it on my baby...still really want 19's or 20's
