Hi all, this is my third car, but the first ive actually chosen to buy, my first two were just cheap from friends, a 1988 Carolla for $500 and then when the head gasket blew on that after a year, i bought a 99' Vectra from my mate for 3 grand, had that for 2 years then finally decided it was about time i got something i really wanted so i went and picked up on friday for just $10,700, hope you like it!

Sound System upgrade - replace front and back speakers DONE! - Orion XTR splits and Orion XTR 6x9's

Might upgrade to SS exterior look with tail-lights and headlights + spoiler

lol, still live at home, n its the guttering out in the street that leads into the driveway that causes the problem, i live at the end of a court, so if i modded the driveway our house would get flooded haha..so yeah...hmm bummer i cant lower it cos it'd look 10x better but...oh well im still happy

Try it 'spoiler-less' for a few days and see what ya think :P easy to put back on afterwards, and i rekon the silver will really suit a no spoiler rear end.

ah..i dunno, honestly not a fan of having without a spoiler...i might try it one day but atm im still on the honeymoon period n a high from having it haha, new pics are up let me know what you think!

car looks great mate! i bought my vy s pack ute about 4 months ago didn't have the SS kit on it though which makes me sad everyday hahaha! they're a beautiful car to drive and own just don't rip too many double bangers or you'll get the nice clunking of anger from ur diff like mine does now :P!

haha yeah my mate has one aswell in manual n has treated it like shit, hes probly halved the cars value in about a year and a half just by the way he drives it, gets a clinking sound on idle...not healthy but hes just like "yeah...it was like that when i got it though"...lol...not it wasnt...ya jackass you broke a nice car!. im gunna baby my car cos its alot nicer than the others ive owned, n cos i got it so cheap, if i treat it right ill probly be able to sell it in a couple of years and get roughly the same price back for it..win-win

UPDATE!
Finally got my custom plates on, papers went through to vicroads n now i officially own it...about time!,
also due to one of my friends geezin up my vehicle last night and my complete lack of mechanical know-how hes pointed out that i have a growler system
(sorta thought it sounded different to a friends VY-S but didnt take too much notice)
but yes..this makes me happy lol cos i think once i get my exhaust done it may add a bit to the note i get?,
Anyway...heres a few pics of my plates on and under the hood, pics arent great just took em in the driveway


Am also contemplating painting my engine cover, what colour would look good do you guys think?
I'm kinda leaning towards red?

thanks mate, but you wouldnt believe, some freaking-oxygentheif scratched my car when i was at the shops the other day, i purposefully parked against the wall in the corner so i was only next to one car, and guess what...the parasite on that side scratched from my drivers door handle all the way down to my rear tail-light!....scum! , its not massively obvious...but i know its there..and thats enough...i just hate some people lol

Considering at the moment whether to spend money on lowering or money or upgrading sound system first, if i lower it i will put it on pedders springs but not too low as i want to be able to get in my driveway, just a nice level that looks sweets, if i upgrade sound i was thinking of clarion or kenwood as those are the brands i had in my last car and they friggen rocked lol, was thinking a total of around a grand for my sound system but am flexible, anyone have any suggestions on what i should get and what combinations seem to get the best sound?

What you looking for quality or just loud? Clarion and kenwood are pretty average brands but on a budget aren't bad. I would recommend alpine type r splits tho they are great but only if ur gonna amp them. And kicker subbies and mono. U lookin for 2nd hand stuff or brand new?

My mate bought a Soundstream 1000RMS amp and a 1800w Soundstream sub for about $800 delivered all up off ebay (bought the two seperate). You can feel the air moving even though the sub is in the boot.

i plan on amping them no doubt, no point upgrading without an amp, not too fussed if its 2nd hand or brand new with the head unit amp and sub, but i think ide want to get new speakers

ive got alpine type s splits and 6x9s sound quality is really good, type rs are obviously better but i didnt have the spare $ at the time so if ur on a budget the type s's are good

cool man, how much did your setup cost you n whats the diff in price between type S and type R?

i paid 900 installed and got the 6x9s, splits, deck, facia, speaker grills. i already had a sub and amp so just told them to throw that in.

and i think its about $100 difference with type r compared to the type s. with type x's being even more than type r

thanks mate, if only I could decide which mods I want to do to it first ide be sweet!, hard to pick between exhaust/extractors, sound system , lowering, or phreddy interior...its all too confusing

I'd say lower it first bro. I get the warm fuzzies inside everytime someone hears my system and that look comes on their face like holy shit lol but u get over it where as u never get sick of looking at ur sexc lowered car lol

I'm tired of my car at FE2 height so ive booked it in to get lowered on friday on pedders springs!
