I'm getting a lot of help from a someone who I'd call the master of SQ, this guy really knows his stuff. My plans were not going to be like this, but he had some time available so we could get it started.

But its your central pillar, meaning if your in accident can cause harm to yourself and others, I got done for mounting my Volt metre there once.

I couldn't make something like this on my own, I'm just a helper in this case, a friend of mine is doing the bulk of the work, he is a true veteran of SQ car stereo.

I'd hardly think so mate, gauges are often illegal in this position because they are illuminated, I highly doubt this would be of concern to the police. I know many people who have had custom A pillars for years and years, without any worry. Just a place to mount a tweeter

This helps also some A pillars are big and bulky, doesn't look good imo.

They will be trimmed in black vinyl, very very similar as the dashboard.

Seeing your mm1040s' there makes me even more impatient for mine haha just wondering, do you find the still hit low deep bass? Being a 10"? I know they will do tight punchy bass but I listen to a lot of rolling bass music aswell,

They don't play overly low, mine are in 1.1cu ft sealed boxes, 16mm all round then 32mm thick on the front baffle, so there is no box flex and with this size for this sub, that is pretty good for a sealed box. No complaints at all, but they don't play low like an Ultimo or IDMAX or something of that nature. In a ute, I can't imagine any disappointment.

ahk, i ordered a pre fab box from a bloke in brisbane who custom makes vz ute sub boxes, got on to him through ebay

the box itself is 18.5L and sealed, made from chip board around 13mm thick at a guess, when i was reading on the specs of the sub they are recommended for an 18L box so i hope it works out alright, also the box came with some polyfill so ill try it with and without to see which sounds better

Also have a new substage coming, new midwoofer amplifier and a new boot install to house it all, also new midwoofer installation when I have the time. New wiring on it's way too, just going to get some parts together so I have it all here when the spare time comes to work on it.

Haha cheers mate!! I am very happy with them, apart from a spot of vinyl coming loose in the heat, which will be fixed next week.

That clay stuff is so good, absolutely love it. I didn't make them though, I was only a helper. If you have big bucks you could go to Phatt customs or something to have some awesome pillars made, but it's pricey. I'm not sure what parts for your car are like, but see if you can get some second hand A pillars, then you can work on those, if the result is no good, it doesn't matter
