Fitted up catch can and fixed up the Oil pressure sender.
The oil pressure sender rubbed against the oil filter so was a pain when it came service time so I made a braided line so that the sender can sit on the rocker cover.
Lines were made with Speedflow -4 200 series teflon hose, with steel -4 fittings. I forgot to mention to the supplier I wanted a black -4 -> 1/8th NPT fitting so they sent the standard blue. doesnt match the rest of the engine bay but it will do.
Return hose to intake manifold was drilled and tapped to allow for the -6 100 series braid to be connected.
The other breather hose will be done with -6 braided hose also, waiting on parts so i can tap the valve cover and throttle body to put the fittings into.

Good job mate that looks tidy as
mesh would look good... i also think you should get him to paint the lower black part of the front bumper silver. Will look much cleaner...
I Love it, I also have a Quicksilver Sv8, and in the middle of doing Custom stereo install and mods and so forth, the OTR CAI is Awesome! Mine has that same little Deadspot about 2500rpm..
I'm Using Stinger Roadkill but same stuff pretty much...
Nice and Neat Project you have there Buddy![]()
The deadspot which i had at 2500rpm was fixed when I got the car mafless tuned. not sure if its an issue with Holdens factory tune or the maf sensor was dirty.
How do you find the stinger stuff, never used or seen it before? I went the dynamat because my rep got me some of it cheap.
Still haven't finished off with the Braided lines and Fittings, wondering if anyone has converted the power steering return and from reservoir to pump to braided lines and how they went about this?
Also had a bit of a thought about black VE stripes, whats your opinions on this? In a way I think it would look good and match the silver/black theme under the bonnet just not sure if it would look out of place.
Had an idea to try and clean up the engine bay without having to have the engine covers on. Decided to paint the rocker covers/coil brackets and coil packs.
Have painted the rocker covers and coil brackets already, still have to clean up the coils to paint them silver.
Fittings are turning up tomorrow to finish off the catch can lines and to make a fuel line from the hardline to fuel rail with a gauge.
Finished off the braided lines, and made the fuel line today. First attempt with fuel line didn't work, the barb inside the 200 series fitting tore the teflon and caused it to leak but second time it worked.
New shifter boot and knob arrived today also, the silver top and leather knob looks a lot better on the car than the original poly black one did

Can you post a pic with the shifter in mate? I've thought about replacing mine with a silver one, but wasn't sure how out of place the white stitching would be..

Very nice mate, well done
The Blue One
Hey, sorry took so long to reply. Havent been on in a while.
Here are some pics of the shifter fitted.
In other news. New clutch has been ordered, exedy HD, flywheel, concentric slave, ARP flywheel bolts, ARP pressure plate bolts.
Still unsure about ordering the Braided clutch line and ripshifter from GM Motorsports. Anyone have the braided clutch line or shifter, do you think it was worthwhile?
Parts I have been waiting on arrived this afternoon, just have to go organise to get it fitted.
- Exedy Heavy Duty Clutch Kit
- Exedy Flywheel
- Concentric Slave Cylinder
- ARP Flywheel Bolts (supplied with clutch kit)
- ARP Pressure Plate Bolts.
- GM Motorsports Braided clutch hose
- GM Motorsports Street Rip Shifter
Should be a completely different car to drive once this is all in.
How much for all the clutch gear man?
My VY SS: 20s, Tint, Leather, DVD player, OTR, Cammed 290rwkw
Everything shown above retails for about $1950. Heavy duty clutch kit (flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disc, concentric slave, ARP Flywheel bolts) $1300, Shifter $500, braided clutch line $100, ARP Pressure plate bolts $50
nice ride man, ive got same Otr, same gauages and also same clutch in my sv8.
Thanks mate, How do you find the clutch? Hopefully will be fitting the kit in about 2 weeks if all goes well.
