Hi all,
Got this SV6 in January and decided to update from the standard 17 inch rims. After a lot of thought went for VZ Clubsport rims.
Don't really plan for too much at the moment. I've replaced the standard single CD with a six stacker (although lost the use of the aerial - might have to look into that). May do exhaust purely because Holden should've made them sound more sporty out of the factory.
A couple of questions for anyone/everyone. The tyres are 245/35 and only clear the strut by about 4-5mm. Has anyone had issues with clearance?
Also what shocks/springs would give me a small height drop. Don't want to go low because it scrapes on too many driveways as it is.
Cheers
AJ
very tidy mate, go the white sv6![]()
Thanks mate. Yeah, didn't want to follow the crowd into impulse blueNah, I just prefer white cars (except for bloody tar spots which I seem to be constantly removing).
I notice in your thread you did the exhaust on yours. What did you put on and how does it sound? You don't have a vid online anywhere do you? I got the SV6 after my VS SS was flooded in Brisbane just before Christmas (before the big floods), and the main difference I notice is the lack of noise on acceleration. The SS had pacemaker extractors and 3" exhaust so it made a bit more noise
Cheers

yeah mate i like the white more and more each day, hate those spots.. clay bar removes them fair easy but they unfortunately always come back hahah
might put a video up soon, i got a dual 2.5" into a 2 1/4 or something like that? not 100% sure but sounds nice under acceleration.. apparently the best system is a dual 2 1/4 into a 3" i think? hahah.. also i got a ss inductions growler which makes the engine sound alot better in my opinion..
one of the first things i wanted to do was make it louder (no exhaust tone and engine is quiet as a mouse) especially after having a vr which 2.5" straight through, extractors and a cai lol
sucks about the vs ss mate, floods have ruined a heap of nice cars![]()
i also have a white sv6. Ive just put front and rear SSL HD kingsprings in my car and havent scrapped on anything yet however i still have a stock exhaust. But the ride height is very good
Hi tytan,
Good to hear from another white sv6 ownerYou've done well to not scrape on anything with SSL's. I have to be careful going out my driveway as it is otherwise the front bumper scrapes. Also the first day I picked the car up I went to do the change-over at the Dept. of Transport and scraped the exhaust on a (albeit large) bump in the carpark.
I do a fair bit of country road driving and I'm not sure how well lowered suspension works on our crap regional roads. Would definitely like a small height drop though so might just bite the bullet one day...
Cheers

i wanna get ssls in mine too, did you have to get your guards rolled? what wheels you got?
very nice mate, i like the white SV6's they look very sharp.i got a 2.25" twin xforce cat back on my 04 VZ exec, heres the link, ive set it so everyone can see it if i do remember. if you after a nice sound it doesnt have a massive RUMBLE but when you put your foot down it does sound very clean and beefy.. and best part is, being only 2.25" twin it doesnt have that annoying drone when your driving down the highway
hope it helps, and once again, nice car man.

Thanks very much mate. Your exhaust sounds good.
I think twin 2.25" is definitely the way to go. Will probably end up going with Pacemaker. Have used their products in the past and never had any problems.
Thanks again
AJ
sounds fair good man, alloytecs dont sound as tough as the buicks or ecos but the 2.25" gives it a nice note
im pretty sure i've seen your car around bundy?
:O hey impulse blue kicks arse man
they are a nice lookin car thoughan i feel ur pain on scraping the front bumper, i've got the FE2 suspension too and even though i would like to see it lower i cant be screwed inching up to every driveway i go up.... even though i do that now. :S
