Hey guys im new to this site, I just bought this VY SV8 5.7L its Stock as a rock that i know of, Im very happy with the car its nice to drive....Even though its been sent back to the dealer because of shit battery and a clunk in the diff. But on the happy side its good and its gettin windows tinted and exhaust eventually....Any input for future mods would be great thanks

Nice one mate is it manual or auto and what the dealers gonna give you a new battery? They didnt told me the flat battery I got with mine wasn't covered by warrantee. Anyway tinted windows and new exhaust sounds good. Put some 19 or 20's on it and lower it and will look the goods..

Yeah got a new battery and its auto, plans are putting 19" VY R8 wheels or the VE SS wheels on in i just put a 3" X force exhaust on sounds sweet, and after a SS body kit also if anyone has one cheers

Hey Guys an update on the car posting some pictures up now
Wednesday Next Week Cars going to Adelaide for the trans to get reworked, shift kit, high prssure relief valve, boost pressures and other stuff i cant remember.
And window tint aswell

Looks good mate, I see your pictures are taken in Kadina.. A group of us in Port Pirie occasionally do a cruise up that way.. Next time we go ill let ya know.. The more cars we have the better i say.. You could invite more people too if u like.. I went to school in Bute and kadina, so i know alot of people from there anyway..

may i ask why you doin that to the trans? you can do alot of things with just a tune by changing pressures/shift points etc for very little money these days

but nice car hey, those sv8 have such a sleeper look dont they, you wouldnt think twice when u have no badges on etc

I've had both mods done to my box (tuner done first round) but its so much better to get the vette servo and shift kit installed you'll be raving about it for weeks

The Band has gone in second gear so a specialist trans mechanic is takin it out he said thats what he does, beef up the box etc so yeah its just what he told me, and thanks dijm8 i was gunna put a ss kit on it its a series 1 and im sure the series 2 had the kits stock. but like you said sleeper LOL im after some TSW 19" wheels but gotta wait for trans first and wait for more funds due to tradeschool. and no badges? you mean all of em? lol

Hey guys just rang the bloke doin the trans tomorrow he said the 4L60E transmissions in the V8 come with the corvette servo stock.

its neat, but didn't you just but the sv8? and for 19g im sure you would be able to get a vz with similar kms?

Yeah i just bought it but i wanna SS i like the bodykit etc the dash that comes with em i thought the SV8 would be the same but after seein these kits etc i want one lol

Even though i wouldnt mind puttin a kit on sv8 is it stupid doin it? As in look a like as they call it?

if its an sv8, and you put SS kit, i dont think anyone would call it a look-a-like
as long as you dont put the hsv kit

ohh, i never knew the dash was different?

in the end, it's your call, but i'd stick around waiting for the perfect one to come up
thats what i did and bought my VZ SS with 90,000kms for 13.5k

Hey Neat as a pin mate, Really Nice, I have a Quicksilver S2 Vy Sv8 and I've just Dumped the SS Front Bar on mine, they look So much Meaner with that on.. From memory bout $1200 Painted Fitted and Genuine SS Foggys in and fitted back to original Switch...
I will Throw Some pics up of Mine in the next Day or two and see what you think in regards to SS Front Bar..
